MR. WILLIAM (BILL) GEORGE NELSON HOOPER of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Patricia (Pat) Hooper, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the age of 84 years.

Besides his loving wife of 53 years, Bill will be sadly missed by his children; Brad (Melissa), Greg (Carol) and their children Lauren and Nicolette; Russ (Lisa) and their children Brayden, Megan and Austin; Deb and her children Jay and Kaleigh. He will also be missed by his brother Frank of Oahu, Hawaii.

Dad was a loving husband and a caring, devoted father who loved to share his passions with his children and grandchildren. The many days spent on the ski hill, sailing, fly-fishing on the Crowsnest and RV’ing will be fondly remembered.

Bill began his career surveying for the Alberta Government, he continued working in highway construction for National Paving, Tollestrup Construction and then formed CoHo Paving with the Cook family of Pincher Creek. Bill concluded his career with Top Notch Construction in 1991 and in 1997 was inducted as an Honourary Lifetime Member of the Alberta Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association.

Bill’s 21-year challenge with Parkinson’s never diminished his spirit for living.

A Memorial Service will be held at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 - 15th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Cathy Coates officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to the Parkinson’s Society of Southern Alberta, 1254 - 3rd Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0J9.
