It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of WALTER HNATKOWSKI, who passed away suddenly in his home on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the age of 80 years.
Walter is survived by his daughters Brandie and Kylie Hnatkowski, siblings Ted (Joside) Hnatkowski, Josephine Kurjanczk, Helen Blazejak and Jean MacDonald. He was predeceased by his loving wife Terry Hnatkowski, parents Maria and Michael Hnatkowski, in-laws Ted and Mille Duffy and sister Gladys Ernst.
Walter was born on September 10, 1937 in Poland, and immigrated to Canada during World War II. He worked for the City of Lethbridge for 35 years as an equipment operator and training officer.
Walter loved many things including camping, fishing and he was the life of the party, especially when he was playing darts all across Canada. He enjoyed going to the Casino to play his favourite slot machine, Sun and Moon and having breakfast. He could eat breakfast for ever meal of the day. He loved colouring and completed many different pictures. He also enjoyed fill-ins puzzles and going for coffee. He was an avid collector of many things which included hockey cards, hats, coins and his face would light up when he received pins from around the world.
Although he is gone, Walter will never be forgotten and forever in our hearts.
The family extends an invitation to come celebrate Walter's Life at the COAST LETHBRIDGE HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTRE, 526 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 1:00 P.M.
