MARIA "MARIANNE" HIROSE, the beloved wife of Takao "Tak" Hirose, of Picture Butte, passed away with her family at her side on Sunday, January 1st, 2023, at the age of 67 years.

MARIA "MARIANNE" HIROSE, the beloved wife of Takao "Tak" Hirose, of Picture Butte, passed away with her family at her side on Sunday, January 1^st, 2023, at the age of 67 years.

Besides her loving husband Tak, she is survived by one son, Stephen Hirose of Lethbridge, two daughters, Kimiko (Michael) Oliver of Lethbridge, Naomi (Nick) Graff of Strathmore, one daughter-in-law Gwen (Lutz) Hirose of Coaldale, eight grandchildren: Kelsey, Liam and Caitlyn Oliver, Jaxon and Benjamin Hirose, and Luke, Norah, and Roman Graff, three brothers, John (Agnes) deJong of Brooks, Tom (Patsy) deJong of Brooks and Brian (Terri) deJong of Brooks, two sisters, Linda (Kelly) Dube of Brooks and Annette deJong of Brooks. Marianne is also survived by her mother, Anne DeJong of Brooks. She was predeceased by her father Ted deJong.

Her love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew her. Her quiet courage, strong faith, creativity and sense of humor will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her.

A Prayer Service will be held at ST. CATHERINE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 762 - Crescent Avenue, Picture Butte on Friday, January 6^th, 2023, at 7:00 P.M.

A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. CATHERINE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Saturday, January 7^th, 2023 at 11:00 A.M., with Fr. Ian Gagne, Celebrant. A time of fellowship & refreshments will follow.

Both the Prayer Service and Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Marianne's obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Marianne will be laid to rest at the Royal View Cemetery in Lethbridge.

In memory of Marianne, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Ronald McDonald House, or a charity of your choice.

My prayers for your family. Marianne was great!!! I shared many laughs with her at CWL functions. I enjoyed her leadership, kindness, and ability to welcome all. I will miss her. May your family be blessed with many fond memories and be at peace knowing that she is being comforted by Jesus.
