Irmgard was born in East Prussia. Her family owned a farm where she was raised. This is where she fell in love with farm life and would later become an accountant and managed several farms in West Germany before coming to Canada in 1956.
In 1955 Irmgard and Phil were married and lived on the farm in Del Bonita. Irmgard so loved farm life in Del Bonita and all her animals. She faithfully did her chores until the young age of 82.
"God looked around his garden and found an empty space, then he looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face; he put his arms around you and lifted you to rest, God's garden must be beautiful; He only takes the best"
