It with extreme sadness we announce that PATRICK HILL lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the Palliative Care Unit in St. Michael’s Care Center. Patrick leaves his best friend Betty Quayle, his son Ryan, Betty’s daughter Jillian (Scott) Stirling and grandson James, brother Robin Hill (Barb), sisters Cathy (Nick) Papp, Mary (Robin) Tweedie, much loved nieces and nephews Nicholas (Monica), Julie (Dale), Erinn (Bruce), Meredith, Katie, Allison (Kevin), 2 great nieces Isabelle and Claire, great nephew Cole, Betty’s brother Bill and Betty’s sister-cousin Patricia. Pat was predeceased by his parents Bill and Shirley Hill. Patrick was born in Vulcan, AB on October 2, 1950. He spent his early years at the Buffalo Hills Ranch northeast of Vulcan, the much loved grandson of Letitia, William Hill and Mary Jane Noonan. In the mid 1950’s the family relocated to Lethbridge, where Pat has since resided. His son Ryan was born in 1978; Pat spent his working years as a property assessor, most recently with the City of Lethbridge. Pat spent many happy hours fishing with friends and his grandson James, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, belonging to an NFL football pool and activities at The Cabin in Coleman with his many good friends. Pat was an avid historian of his family, Lethbridge and the world. Pat will always be remembered for his friendly smile, pleasant demeanor and outgoing personality. Always true to himself, he loved his family like friends and friends like family. Pat will be forever remembered by all whose lives he touched. Memories are made of this. A Celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the ELK’S COMPOUND, Indian Battle Park, Lethbridge, AB. A Private Family interment will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully decline.
