The couple moved to North Battleford Saskatchewan, they settled and raised their four children Donald, Jacqueline, Darlene, and Michael. Eventually, moving to Wainwright Alberta, where Carla started her nursing career while raising her family. Carla with Val together provided the best of all things for their family. They then moved to Lethbridge which became home, also where all Carla's closest family lived. This is where Carla's life and career grew into a flurry of teenage kids, full-time nursing and pastimes. Her compassion for her patients led to friendships that went beyond care. Carla's love of family, crocheting, sewing, cooking, bingo, her lemon pies, homemade buns and love of roses were just a small part of this wonderful woman. Carla's struggles with her health slowly changed her life. Her home became a wonderful place of security, Val making it the most comforting and loving place on earth.
