Anna, beloved wife, friend and sailing companion to John was born in Gouda, Holland, educated in Hull, Yorkshire, England during the war years and came to Canada with her parents in 1950. Throughout her busy life as wife of John Dillon Herron and mother to Michael, Susan and Peter, she loved music. In Lethbridge, she discovered line dancing where she made friends of all who knew her. Anne and John travelled widely, Holland being her favorite but Hawaii intrigued her, vacationing on Oahu four times. As a perfect home-maker and mom, she retained her Dutch values and despite a hint of Yorkshire accent, proudly let people know that she was a Dutch girl, through and through. Anne worked mostly as a pharmacy assistant in Saskatoon, Kelowna, Lethbridge and Georgetown, Ontario. For eight years she was employed as a Surgical Ward Clerk at the University of Saskatchewan Hospital. She leaves so many good people to mourn her passing, especially her dear friend Pamela Thomas of Lethbridge, as well as friend and advisor Sister Ivy McCaan of St. Michael's Health Centre. It was there that Anne succumbed to cancer. Anne will be cremated and interred, until her husband joins her at St. Johns-by-the-Lake Anglican Church in Grand Bend, Ontario at a later date. In memory for Anna, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2M7.
