HERMAN ZIMMER, beloved husband of Florence, of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the age of 84 years. Herman was born in Bruno, Saskatchewan and moved to Ontario when he was 16. He worked on construction for several years. He worked for O’Sullivan Construction in Lethbridge, and through his future brother-in-law Larry Peters, he met Florence. After travelling around on construction he settled in Lethbridge and worked for the City of Lethbridge with the water-works department. After 30 years he retired and they spent 20 years going to Arizona every winter. He loved hunting, fishing and camping, as well as telling stories. He was a member of the First United Church and held many positions within the committees. He is survived by his wife Florence of 59 ? 1/2 years, sons Wally (Betty-Lou) Zimmer and Ron (Judy) Zimmer of Elkford, B.C; a daughter Pam of Calgary; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren all of Elkford. He is also survived by his brothers, Wilfred in Sudbury and Roman of Kenora; sisters Mary Donnelly of Kenora and Sylvia Carmoody of Portland, Oregon.
