Helmer, Margaret "Meg"

MARGARET "MEG" HELMER, beloved wife of the late John Helmer, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully with her devoted daughter by her side at St Michael's Health Centre, on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the age of 99 years, one month short of her 100th birthday.

Meg was born January 5, 1920 in Lanarkshire, Scotland. She immigrated to Canada with her family when she was eight years old. She was the youngest and last surviving child of James and Margaret Orr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving daughter Elsie Grey and always teasing her, son-in-law Reg Prawdzik as well as Reg's family and numerous nieces and nephews.

Meg was predeceased by her beloved husband John (1968), much loved son-in-law Brian Grey (2003), three brothers and two sisters.

Meg was a kind and gentle lady and will be missed by all who knew her. At her request, a private family graveside service was held.
