HELEN (DIETZ) (KARPIUK) BYE, beloved wife of Cecil Bye of Milk River, AB passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Monday, July 20, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her children: Linda (Andy) Martin of Medicine Hat, AB, John (Beverly) Karpiuk of Medicine Hat, AB, Gloria (Ken) McKinnon of Olds, AB, Myrna (Jan) Cameron of Calgary, AB and Darrell (Arlene) Bye of Vernon, BC. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Helen was born October 21, 1924 in Lemsford, SK. She moved to Alberta in 1946. She had been widowed and left with a small family in 1956. She met Cecil Bye in Medicine Hat and they married in 1961. She moved to the farm east of Milk River, where they farmed until retiring in Milk River. She was a member of the Royal Purple for many years. She enjoyed countless hours of gardening, sewing, baking, canning and ceramics. She loved camping and fishing with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all. A Funeral Service will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street, Milk River, AB on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Joseph T. Kalathilparambil officiating. Interment to follow at the Milk River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2M7. We hope Blair’s friends will join us at the CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge at noon on Monday July 13 to mingle, and share stories of our memories of Blair.
