HAROLD MASON

HAROLD LAWRENCE MASON, of Ft. MacLeod, AB passed away peacefully at the St. Michael’s Health Care Centre, Palliative Care Unit, on November 4th, 2012 at the age of 76 years. He is the loving father, grandfather, and uncle of; Teresa (Greg) Trytten of Kelowna, B.C. and their 3 children, Chad, Kitrina, and Caitlyn; Tammy (Larry) Flynn of Kelowna, B.C.; and niece Tara (Dom) Mason of Nobleford, AB. He is also survived by his brother Neil (Wanda) Mason of Nobleford, AB and many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. Harold was predeceased by his son Brent Mason, parents Gordon and Dorothy Mason, and his sister Edith Van Den Hengel. After 4 million miles of touring as a long haul trucker, dad/grandpa/Hippie has gone home. Dad took a few detours along the way, trying his hand at hairdressing, restaurant ownership, pilot car entrepreneur, and camp ground attendant. Dad spent summers in Colorado combining/harvesting and the winters soaking up the sun near the Salton Sea, but dad’s true love was always trucking and camping. There was always a highway he hadn’t travelled, new scenery yet to be discovered, and of course, new friends to be made around a campfire. Until we meet again… At Harold’s request, there will be no service. In memory of Harold Mason, donations may be made to ST. MICHAEL’S HEALTH CARE CENTRE, PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT, 1400 - 9th Ave South Lethbridge, AB T1J 4V5, or to THE SALVATION ARMY, P.O. Box 8200, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 4W5.
