HABDAS, JOHN BRUNO

MR. JOHN BRUNO HABDAS, beloved husband of Mrs. Eileen Habdas, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the age of 80 years. John is survived by his beloved wife Eileen (nee Watson) Habdas of 50 wonderful years. He will be dearly missed by his children; Lorianne (Ron) Pansky, and Tracy (Aurel) Beaulieu, sibling’s Elsie Stevulak and Annie (Jerry) Fisher; sisters in law Mary Habdas and Donna Watson, brother-in-law Adair (Karen) Watson, as well as grandchildren Kelly and Janelle Pansky, Alexis Beaulieu, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Bernice Habdas, brother William (Cobbler) Habdas and brothers-in-law John Stevulak and Douglas Watson. Born and raised in Blairmore, Alberta on December 21, 1929, John had a lust for life. His favourite pastimes included playing the mouth organ, ice skating, hockey, skiing, gardening, and dancing, just to name a few. He loved visiting his family in the Crowsnest Pass, and always had a deep admiration for the mountains. John was always very social and loved to talk, and became friends to many. He will always be remembered as “roving reporter,” remarkable husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, neighbour and friend. A Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. with Len & Sandy Whyte officiating. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 - 13th Street North, Lethbridge on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Darek Zarebski S.D.S., Celebrant. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
