She was born April 10, 1952 at the Blood Indian Hospital. Born to the late Rufus Piinakoyim and Christine Namaakii (Many Fingers) Goodstriker. Lorraine was the youngest of their four children Wilton (Evelyn) Goodstriker, Joyce Goodstriker and Christine (Ross) Black Water. Following the passing of her mother Christine, Lorraine was raised by her father Rufus. Rufus later married Celina Brewer in 1958 and had six children; Rufus Jr. (Louise) Goodstriker, Francis (Godfrey) Weasel Head, Kathleen Goodstriker, Rochelle (Corey) Pace and Leon (Lloyda) Goodstriker, also raised with her family as siblings were Stanley (Joanne) Scout, Tyrone Eagle Speaker, George Jr. (Toni) Goodstriker and Alvin Eagle Child. Lorraine was a loving mother to four beautiful daughters Renate, Jessica (Todd), Shawna (Kelly), Carrie Dawn (Lonny) and one special grandson Skip. Adopted daughter; Crystal (Doane) Goodrider and numerous nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own. Lorraine is predeceased by her mother Christine, father Rufus, son Shaun Kelsey, brother Charles and nieces Cassandra & Carlyle. Lorraine's maternal clan was Mamioyiiksi and her paternal clan was Ni'taitsskaiksi she was raised traditionally and later in life joined the Iitskinayiiksi society. Lorraine was given the privilege to work with her father in traditional medicines and healing. Lorraine received her education at St. Mary's Residential School, later attended school in Edmonton and Calgary where she lived with her brother Wilton. Lorraine excelled in all sports, especially basketball and track. On two separate occasions she had the opportunity to travel to Reno Nevada and Los Angeles California for the National Indian Activities Association. Lorraine loved to spend time with family, meet new people from all around the world, travel, ride horses, listen to music, e-mail special notes and thoughts to friends, exercising and maintaining good health, and was still racing her daughters (and winning) at her youthful 55 year old life. Lorraine was a Blood Tribe bus driver for the Blood Tribe Education Board for many years. She moved on to work as a tour guide for the Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump then decided to work with Kainai Board of Education as a Blackfoot Immersion teacher and special needs student teacher. Lorraine's dream was always to continue her career at the Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump; she followed her heart and applied for her job as Head of Interpretation and fulfilled this dream for 15 years. Lorraine had great pride in her job as she could properly educate people from all over the world on the ways of life to be a proud Blackfoot Woman. Lorraine had a kind heart and shared her life with people from all walks of life. She had a way of helping people laugh with her humor and most memorably with her lasting laugh. Lorraine was a humble person and always undoubtedly thought of everyone she met, as her friend. For this reason, Lorraine requested not to list any Honourary Pallbearers as everyone was her friend and she did not want to exclude anyone. Lorraine is leaving behind a lasting legacy of kindness, and hoped that everyone she touched would carry that same quality in memory of her. The family wishes to express our appreciation to all who have been so very helpful in our time of need.
