BRENNEN REEVE GROS VENTRE BOY (Mattsowa' Piiyohkotok - Beautiful Pretty Rock), (née Cross Child), was called home to the Creator, surrounded by his loving mother at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the age of 27 years. 

Brennen was born on December 26, 1995 at the Cardston Hospital to Sharon Theresa Bad Eagle and the late Randolph Dicky Gros Ventre Boy. 

Brennen is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Pat and Theresa Cross Child Sr.; auntie Sally Wendy Mary Cross Child; cousins: Luke Christian Cross Child, Tyson Pat Blair Cross Child and Edward Holy Singer; paternal grandparents Beattie and Ruby Gros Ventre Boy; uncles: Randy, Gabriel, aunties, Clara Crying Head, Judy and Brett (Melina) Gros Ventre Boy; and cousins, Blaine, Kevin, Dion Gros Ventre Boy, Angie Shot Both Sides, Tyler Crying Head, Randall Morning Owl and Tristan Shot Both Sides. Brennen also had a few close friends/brothers that he loved and cared for with all his heart, Ramzy and Julian White Feathers and AJ Rabbit. 

Brennen is survived by his loving children Maddox, Jocelyn and Lincoln Gros Ventre Boy; his siblings: Dwight & Mandy Cross Child, Mason and Chelsea Cross Child, Sheree Cross Child, Megan Twigg and Wylie and Martie Gros Ventre Boy; nieces: Addison Cross Child, Ezra Cross Child, Kallie and Ruby Twigg, Nova Gros Ventre Boy and Brielle Cross Child; nephews Demetrious, Nyjah, and Desai Cross Child and Chayton and Cayson Twigg; maternal uncles and aunties: Patrick & Tanya Cross Child, Wesley and Michelle Cross Child, and Justin and Tawny Cross Child; paternal uncles and aunties: Wesley and Noreen Gros Ventre Boy, Deanie Gros Ventre Boy, Carolyn Gros Ventre Boy, Charlene Gros Ventre Boy and Christy Gros Ventre Boy; as well as numerous cousins on both sides of the family. Extended family including Low Horn's, Wolf Child's, Hairy Bull's, Fox's, Crying Head's, Weasel Head's, Young Pine's, Born with a Tooth, Crow Eagle, Crow Shoe, Heavy Runner, Eagle Plume, Long Time Squirrel's, Three Sun's, and Morning Owl's. 

Brennen attended Aahsaopi School, Glenwood School, and Kainai High School, where he developed a love for reading, music, skateboarding, and the academic learning. Brennen loved to sing, make his own rap music and play the keyboard. Brennen also had three children whom he loved dearly. Brennen was a humble, simple kind of man; he didn't care for a fancy lifestyle, he was a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. He loved his adventures with his siblings and friends, smiling from ear to ear and non-stop talking. Brennen truly believed in friendship and had so many far and near. 

Brennen was recently baptized, received his first holy communion, confirmation and read his last rights. The glow that he had was priceless as he knew that his life always belonged to God. This was a joyous day for Brennen. Brennen's Godfather is Patrick Bad Eagle. Brennen had plans of getting baptized a few years ago, and he was so excited saying to Patrick, "so you're going to be my Godfather, that's cool, I'm pretty excited!" Brennen wasn't much of a travelling guy, but he made it to Lac Saint Anne a few times in his younger years and blessed himself in the lake.

Brennen will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Aho! 

A Wake will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 - 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MARY'S IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, Blood Reserve, AB, on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Pawel Andrasz O.M.I celebrating. 

Following the Funeral Mass, Brennen will be laid to rest in the Blood Band Cemetery.
