GRANT ALVIN BEATTIE, devoted husband of the late Patricia Beattie, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Palliative Care on Monday, September 10, 2007 with his family by his side. Grant is survived by his daughters; Brenda (Cliff) Williams, Lesley (Jack) Chapman and Darlene (Roman) Nestorowicz, sons; Ken Beattie, Gil (Zena) Maggs and De Waine (Susan) Kearney, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his sisters Shirley (Frank) Bennett and Delores (Bill) Plomp, brother Glen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Grant loved to fish, golf and camp, enjoying many summers at Keho Lake, wintering in Arizona and meeting people wherever he went. The Coalhurst and Lethbridge Legions often found him visiting many friends who were all very special to him. Dad was always available to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it and we are proud to point out many projects he worked on. He was a very special person to each of us and we will miss him dearly. His wonderful sense of humour and smile will never be forgotten. We love you Dad! A Celebration of Grant’s life will be held at the COALHURST ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION, 5205 - 6th Street, Coalhurst on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 3:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Michael’s Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, 1400 - 9th Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4V5.
