BEN "BENNY DA BEAR" GIESBRECHT, of New Dayton, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the age of 79 years.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Linda, Joey, Mike (Susan), Sandi (Joe) and Deanna, as well as many adoring grandchildren. 

Ben was predeceased by his oldest son, Marty, and his parents.

Ben was born on March 12, 1943 in Chihuahua, Mexico and was the oldest of 11 children. It was here that he spent most of his youth before moving with his family to Alberta, Canada.

Ben was a Maintainer Operator for the County of Warner until his retirement. He was honest, reliable, hard-working and had quite a unique whistle. Ben had a great sense of humor and got a kick out of replying to any and all questions with "NOT!". He loved fishing and enjoyed being in a dart league.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
