JIM GIACCHETTA, beloved husband of Marianne Giacchetta, of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the age of 73 years. Besides his loving wife of 48 years Marianne, he is survived by: Bruce (Wendy) Giacchetta of Calgary, Dr. Rod Giacchetta of Edmonton and Lori Giacchetta of Lethbridge, one grandson Austin and his mother Sherie Larter. He is also survived by one brother Thomas Giacchetta of Coaldale, one sister in law Georgina Giacchetta of Coaldale, one brother in law Robert (Jan) Burns and one neice Diane (Norman) Sincennes and their children Santina and Graysen. He was predeceased by his parents Elisa and Sabatino and one brother Felix. Jim was born Mar. 31, 1937 near Chin and raised and educated in Readymade. In 1957, he was in the first class of automotive at the College. He started his career at D. McLeod and Sons International Harvester and continued on to various other organizations including College Mercury and finally ending up with the City of Lethbridge as the Transit Equipment Supervisor until he retired in 1995. Jim loved sports, hunting and pool with the Knights of Colombus. He was heavily involved with Bulls Baseball and one of the founding members and a director of the P.B.A. till his passing. His family feels blessed for 73 years and will sadly miss Jim. At Jim’s request a private Funeral Mass was celebrated at ST. AMBROSE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1513-23rd Avenue, Coaldale on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Tomy Manjaly, celebrant. Cremation followed the Mass. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
