GERHARD MARK, beloved husband of Eva Mark, of Lethbridge passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the age of 83 years.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived his three sons; Herhald, Reinhard, Vernon, and their families.
Gerhard was a man of his word, loyal to his wife and always thought of his family first. He had a servants heart, was God fearing, trustworthy and honorable.
He worked as a private investigator and at the BMW Plant in Germany, after World War 2 he travelled to Canada to start a new life. He worked at his uncle’s farm in Fort Macleod then at #8 Mine. Gerhard worked hard and was dedicated to his career at the Brewery for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was very energetic, always eager to lend a hand and gave to many charities. He enjoyed playing the accordion and harmonica. Gerhard spoke Yugoslav, German and English, his favorite saying was “You only buy if you need it, and pay cash.”, and lived by this; by never going into debt.
A Funeral Service will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 20 Rocky Mountain Blvd West, Lethbridge, AB., on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Richard Brown officiating.
