GEORGE JAMES MEHALKO

MR. GEORGE JAMES MEHALKO JR. beloved husband of Mrs. Irene Mehalko, of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael’s Heath Centre on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the age of 92 years.

Besides his loving wife he is survived by Donald (Jackie) Mehalko of Turin, Gwen (Don) Baker of Coaldale, four grandchildren; Jason (Marcie) Mehalko of Bakersfield, Cal., Brad (Jennifer) Mehalko of Ontario, Cal., Robbie (Darryl) Moore of Lethbridge, and Jaime (Chris) Clawson of Lethbridge, four great-grandchildren; Jasmine and Katlin Mehalko of Bakersfield, Cal. and Ellie and Emi Clawson of Lethbridge.

He is also survived by two brothers; John (Helen) Mehalko of Lethbridge and Joe (Maxine) Mehalko of Turin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters; Regina Mehalko and Margaret Bilton, and one granddaughter Kally Baker. George was born and raised in the Sundial area to a pioneer homestead family, where he continued to farm there till he retired in 1984 to Lethbridge. George was a resident of St. Michael’s for the last couple of years.

A special thanks to the East Wing of the Palliative Care of St. Michael’s for their care and support of George and the family.

A private Family Service will take place at Mountain View Cemetery, 11th Street & Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 11:00 A.M.

Relatives and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of George’s life at the LETHBRIDGE LODGE, ASPEN ROOM, 320 Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge, AB. on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M.
