He will be lovingly remembered by his nephew, Jason (Bobbi) Grant; and his granddaughter, Ava Merkl-Gibson. Garry is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Peggy Grant and Helen Grant. He will also be dearly missed by numerous relatives and friends.
Garry was predeceased by his son, Cory; brothers, Ronald, Clinton, and David; sister-in-law, Betty Grant; his parents, Francis and John Grant; and his best friend, Calvin Cook.
Garry was born and educated in Lethbridge. Garry drove bus for Lethbridge Transit (LA Transit) for many years and as well drove truck for the County of Lethbridge. He was a man of immense humor. He loved to go to the casino for liver and onions. Garry loved hunting and camping. His best days were spent relaxing in his recliner, he loved his beer, cigarettes and flipping through the channels on the TV. Garry was strong willed and stubborn but those traits defined Garry. Garry was a strong fighter but now free from pain and is at peace with his brothers.
We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. with Pat Siedlecki officiating. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed and may be viewed through Garry’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
