GRACE FRANZ, of Lethbridge, passed away at Edith Cavell Care Centre on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the age of 87 years.
She is the loving mother of Brenda (Fred) Hoffarth of Diamond City, Brent Franz (Helen Odorski) of Lethbridge; grandchildren Darren (Jody) Franz of Lethbridge, Brittany (Cam) Palchewich of Calgary, Ashley Hoffarth of Calgary, Benjamin Hoffarth of Calgary; great-grandchildren Austen, Nicholas, and Jamieson Franz, and Walker Palchewich. Grace is also survived by numerous extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Lorne, son Brian, grandson Brendan Franz; three brothers, John and two in infancy; and her sister Bella. Grace was born December 10, 1923 in Lethbridge where she has resided her whole life.
She met Lorne Franz and together they were married July 28, 1946. She raised three children and one grandchild, loved to cook, garden, and get together with all the family. Grace had quite a sense of humour and Sunday gatherings were an exceptional family time. She was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sadly missed. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lethbridge, AB.
