It is with profound sadness the family of JOHN FOX announces his sudden passing on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at the age of 85 years.

John will be dearly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 64 years, Audrey Fox. John's family was his greatest pride and joy. Poppa John will always be in the hearts of his sons and their families; Myles/Lorraine; Chad of Dubai, Dustin/Elyse of Calgary. Greg/Pam; Jessica/Yash of Colorado; Kyle, Kelsey/Marko and Kailee all of Calgary. His niece and nephew Gloria Boyes and Jack Breuer of BC; special friends Jerry/Brenda DeCoste; longtime friends Marion/Wayne McEntee and Shirley/Heinz Plontke.

John was predeceased by his parents George and Annie and sister Minnie Breuer.

Dad was intrigued with the printing business at a very young age in Cupar, Sask. and honed his craft at major newspapers in Regina and Vancouver. Dad worked 37 years at the Lethbridge Herald, taking the composing room from hot metal print to the 1st digital print.

John retired in 1993 and enjoyed cruising the Mediterranean, traveling to South America, Mexico and exploring the USA and Canada from coast to coast. Poppa John was an avid camper, fisherman, hunter, and was active in coaching and managing his sons in minor hockey & baseball for over 2 decades. He proudly inspired his teams to win many city and provincial championships.

John was an active supporter in local, provincial and federal politics. He was an enthusiastic debater of politics and a proud supporter of the Liberal party.

Dad loved woodworking and created many fine pieces of furniture that have been passed throughout the families. John loved curling, Crib, Hand N Foot, cross country skiing and his exercise club.

Poppa John had a fantastic sense of humor that was appreciated by all. He loved to laugh, enjoyed a good party and was a story teller extraordinaire as he passed his humor, wisdom and knowledge to family & friends.

As John would say "YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHEN TO HOLD THEM AND KNOW WHEN TO FOLD THEM" and sadly it was his time to fold them.
