MR. THOMAS C. FIX of Lethbridge, companion to Christine Hoehn, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2011, at the age of 61 years. Tom was born in Edmonton to Emil and Florence. His family moved to Peace River when he was young. He then moved to Lethbridge in 1972 with his wife Margaret and son Tim. Son Trevor was later born in 1976. Tom worked at Terry Bland’s Photography before going to Woolco. Woolco later became Walmart, where Tom worked for 31 years until his death. Tom and Margaret divorced in 1998, although their marriage did not last, they were still friends. Tom gave everyone a fair shake and always tried to pass on the knowledge he had. He was an amazing inventor/tinkerer. He loved to golf, oil paint, play pool, camp and fish. He was also passionate about his photography; you would rarely find him without a camera. He received the Shining Star award from Walmart several times and was an Honorary Boy Scout. Tom was a big “trekkie” fan but could never master Spock’s “Live long and prosper” hand signal. Besides his beloved Christine, he is survived by his sons Timothy (Bridget) Fix and Trevor both of Cranbrook, B.C. He is also survived by his step-daughters Carmen and Courtney of Lethbridge, AB. Grandchildren Kyra, Alexis and Savannah. Brothers and sisters Jim (Gladys), John (Cathy), Rick, Doug (Arlene), Don (Marina), Judy and Sandy. As well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Emil and Florence. A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 - Mayor Magrath Drive S., Lethbridge on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2 P.M, with Reverend Bob Wallace officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.
