It is with profound sadness the family of CATHERINE AGNES FERGUSON beloved wife of the late Mr. Dougal (Bill) Ferguson of Lethbridge passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the age of 77 years. Mum is survived by her daughter Cathy (AL) O’Neil and her children Andrew and Jamie, son Brian (Rhonda) Ferguson and their children Riley, Maddison, and Lukas, daughter Mary (Jack) Peake and their children Ty and Kyra, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mum was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta to Daniel and Ellen McCarthy. She was the youngest of four brothers and four sisters. She came to Lethbridge with her good friend Jean and fell in love with the coulees. Here she met Bill and married in St. Patrick’s church. Mum devoted her life to raising her family. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and caring for friends as well as driving the ladies to church every Sunday. After her children had grown Mum returned to work as a bookkeeper and later worked alongside her son Brian for 18 years and greatly enjoyed talking and meeting new people. What Mum treasured most was her time spent with her loving family. Mum was predeceased by her husband Bill Ferguson, her parents, siblings and her first born son Roddy. Mum will be fondly remembered for her quiet courage, strength of faith, generous spirit and her sense of humor. This will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her. The Prayer Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 7:00 pm.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 11:00 am at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604-13 Street North, Lethbridge, which Mum was a member for many years. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
