Nick was an amazing person who will be missed dearly. He was kind, funny, and intelligent. One night at a poker game, I asked Nick to explain to me where the concern that the Large Hadron Collider might create a black hole came from. As the game progressed Nick gave me a lesson in particle physics. Particle physics, poker, and a Viking helmet. Who else but Nick could pull that off so perfectly?
My condolences to his friends and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Nick during his time at Vulcan County. He was always very pleasant and helpful, and his presence will be missed in our region. We were actually at the University of Lethbridge at the same time, and I remember him from those days. I know that he was well-regarded during his time at Town of Strathmore as well. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Nick was very quiet but always good natured and willing to help. He was a very cool guy with his own sense of style. He was amazing at his job! One of the best! I enjoyed working with Nick and send my sympathies to his family.

I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of the Fai family. I had the opportunity to work with Nick over the last few years and I always appreciated that he was one of a kind. I will particularly cherish our after work conversations, with topics ranging from physics, his Ti-Cats, heavy metal, or Monty Python. Nick was a genuine and kind person who will be missed dearly.

Nick was a friend to our family immediately. The kids loved how he talked to them like adults and I loved discussing anything controversial with him. The only topic off-limits was the name of a certain actor :) I will always be grateful for his example of genuine respect and curiosity during our conversations. His loss leaves an irreplaceable hole. We miss you Nick.

It is impossible to put into words the profound sense of loss for someone who has literally been there for nearly my entire life. Nick and I became friends in Grade 4, way back at St. Basil's elementary school. Since then, he was part of every major event of my life, and indeed, the gap that has been left won't ever be replaced.
Oddly enough, we didn't like each other at first; I remember getting in a few fights, but that didn't last long as we quickly realized we had so many interests in common, not the least of which was our affection for cats! I remember Nick telling me all about Garfield comics and having endless discussions about our own fuzzy friends. I also went through a tough time with family in Grades 5 and 6, and he was one of the few rocks that helped me weather that storm.
The list goes on and on, getting driver's licenses (slurpee runs), graduating high school, going on to university together. I was also enrolled the physics program at the U of L, and we logged so many hours working on assignments and lab work together. I was also honored to have him as a groomsman in my wedding party, and later introduce him to my boys. His loyalty and dedication to his friends is difficult to match and will never be exceeded. He quite literally would give you the shirt off his back. In fact, my wife once commented on being cold outside; we chuckled when he offered her his shirt, but stopped after we realized he wasn't laughing because he was quite serious!
You will be missed dearly Nick.

I met Nick when I first moved to Lethbridge to take up a job there. He welcomed me to town with open arms and selflessly helped me settle in and answered any questions I may have had about the town, job, etc. Although I moved away many years ago, we kept in touch and I had just been chatting with him online over the summer, so this news came as a terrible shock to me. Nick truly had a heart of gold. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Our deepest condolences to Nick's family for this heartbreaking loss. We have both known Nick for a very long time. No matter how long it had been since we'd last seen him, he could pick up a conversation and it would feel like no time had gone by. A kind and decent man. We will miss him.

My thoughts and prayers are with Nick's family: Garth, Helen, Mike and Quentin as well as close friends during this most difficult time. I considered Nick to be my best friend, best confidente, and my big brother. He was the big brother that we never got but the best one that came in our lives. I will miss him, his friendship and kindness dearly.
The Bonifacio Family would like to extend our condolences to everyone who's saddened by his passing. My parents and 4 younger sisters will forever miss our dear Kuya Nick.

It's impossible to define Nick with words, because he was more than his education and designations, or anything one could think to add. To me, he was an incredible friend, an engaging conversationalist, my favourite cat person, and still-so much more than that.

I want to extend my deepest condolances to the Fai family. Nick was a great son, brother and friend. Nick holds a special spot in my heart as he does is in the hearts of so many. From day one I admired how he would stick to anything he put his mind to. He was a true, dependable and loyal friend. Thank-you Garth and Helen for raising such an astounding man.
