Miller, Erika

August 6, 1940

April 18, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Erika Miller on April 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family as they held her hand and comforted her during her final moments. She was 84.

Born in Germany on August 6, 1940, to Helen and Wilhelm Loof, Erika carried a quiet strength and gentleness that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Known lovingly as “Goomga” to her great-grandchildren—“the only one in the whole world,” as she proudly said—Erika was truly one of a kind.

She was the kindest soul to walk this earth. Erika found joy in the simple things: knitting with care, preparing big meals to bring her family together, and feeding the birds after an afternoon of shopping with her daughter Victoria. She had a heart that always put others first and a warmth that made instant friends of strangers.

Erika is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Wayne Miller, whom she cared for with deep devotion and love. She was a loving mother to James Cotton (Jen), Victoria Gordon (Dwayne), Rhonda Quinn (Wayne), and her late son Johnny Cotton. She was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.

Her love was fierce, unwavering, and unconditional. In her 84 years, she brightened countless lives with her gentle nature, her infectious smile, and her endless compassion.

She was pure light, and now Heaven shines a little brighter with her in it. The world feels a bit dimmer without her presence, but her memory will continue to warm our hearts forever.

As per Erika’s wishes, there will be no funeral at this time. A celebration of life will be held in the near future, where family and friends can gather to honor and remember her beautiful spirit.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Erika’s honor.
