Erik is survived by his loving wife, his youngest sister, daughter, stepsons, as well as, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother, younger sister, and younger brother.

Erik was born on March 19, 1949 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada in 1972 and called Coaldale his home for the past 36 years. A trucker by trade, establishing his company as E&J Trucking, he helped lay many roads in Alberta and in later years snow removal. Erik never truly retired as he continued seasonal work with Rogers/Lantic during beet season. He liked to tinker in his garage and enjoyed three months in the Netherlands every spring where he stayed on his yacht and spent his time with family and friends.

Per Erik’s wishes only a short viewing was held for family followed by a cremation and family dinner.
