If a good life is one that leaves uncounted memories of love and generosity behind, then the life of RAE ENMAN, who has died at the age of 73 was a good life indeed. Rae died on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from cancer.

Rae was truly one of those who put the interests of others ahead of her own. Her family and friends meant everything to her. If she could help anyone in any way, she would. In conversation, one always felt the steady force of her undivided attention. She knew instinctively that life improves when serving others.

Born in Taber, she was the child of Dr. John Robert Enman and Doris Helen Enman.

For a quarter century, she was the life partner of Monty Hoot, with whom she had a son, Daniel Hoot.

Her major work engagements were with Telus and Costco, places where she proved herself a conscientious employee and made many lifelong friends.

In retirement, she kept herself busy, nourishing her connections with friends and family, playing mahjong, and enjoying morning talk shows, while continuing to support a number of charitable causes that were dear to her heart. Rae had a great love for animals, especially her cats, Cowboy and Cali.

Her parents and her partner died before her.

Rae is survived by her son Daniel Hoot (Cody Lewis); brother Charles; and brother James (Karen née Kanius) Enman.

In her typical way, Rae wanted to leave this life as quietly and undemonstratively as possible, but the ripples of love and connection she leaves behind will not be forgotten.

At Rae's request, no funeral will be held. A private Family Graveside will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lethbridge & District Humane Society (lethbridgehumanesociety.com

My sincerest condolences to Rae's family. I will always cherish my friendship with Rae. We worked together at Costco and continued our friendship after she retired. We enjoyed many girls nights out with our friend Jen. She was my Rae of Sunshine. When I would come in the office every morning she would greet me with that big beautiful smile. Rae was one of my biggest cheerleaders. I will forever cherish our many stories and endless giggles. I will miss you my dear friend. May you rest in peace.

I was very sad to read of Rae's passing. We were neighbours when she worked at Telus. She was a gentle sincere woman. Rest in peace, Rae.

My most heartfelt condolences to Rae's family. My mom and Rae have been best friends for decades; so close were the two of them that I have the middle name "Rae" because of her. She will be sorely missed.

Sending condolences to Rae's family. I worked with Rae at TELUS, and remember her as a very kind, thoughtful person. RIP sweet Rae.
