Mrs. Lillian Rose Elliott passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 75 years. Lil was predeceased by her husband Edward, her parents Charles and Rose Urban, brothers Charles and William, and sisters Peggy and Hilda. Lil was the last surviving member of her family. Lil is survived by her children Albert Azzara of Red Deer, Cindy (Murray) Charles of Lethbridge, Kelly (Denise) Elliott of Lethbridge, and Tina (Michael) Wanner of Cowley, Alberta. Lil was the proud Grandmother to five grandchildren. Richard Charles (Shay), Jennifer Elliott, Michelle Charles (Travis), Kevin Elliott, and Landon Zuehlke, all of Lethbridge. Lil was recently blessed with her first great-grandchild, Abigail, age 5 months, and was looking forward to the safe arrival of her second great-granddaughter due to arrive in May. Lil was born and raised in Lethbridge where she met and married Edward on September 10, 1960, and they enjoyed 46 years of marriage until Dad’s passing. She was a fulltime homemaker, and after raising four children, she helped care for her grandchildren. She was very devoted to her family. Lil treasured her lifelong friendships with Louis and Thea Tinordi, and Marge and her daughter Marlene Zarooben. Lil enjoyed gardening and always had a yard full of beautiful flowers and green grass. She was proud of her efforts and worked very hard to maintain her lovely and colourful surroundings. She also enjoyed reading and was an avid recycler. Mom’s quiet courage, strength, and sense of humour will be carried forward by those who knew and loved her. She will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever. We take comfort in the fact Mom has been reunited with Dad and the rest of our family. A funeral service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 - Mayor Magrath Drive South on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 1 pm. A reception will follow.
