Send a Tribute

Mom was born in Czechoslovakia, August 19, 1935. At nine months old she came to Canada with her family to start a new life on a ranch in Mountain View, Alberta. Living on the ranch meant there was lots to do and she developed her hard work ethic working alongside her mom and brother. She attended school in Mountain View and graduated from Grade 12.

At a Hungarian dance in Lethbridge, mom met the love of her life and they were married September 16, 1954. Together they farmed north of Magrath and raised three children. Mom and dad bonspieled, traveled, entertained, and hosted many family occasions at the farm. They especially loved to dance and hold hands while on walks together.

Mom was an amazing cook and she loved trying out new recipes and sharing them with family and friends. After retiring she spent countless hours in her garden and flowerbeds. Her yard was her pride and joy, along with her family. We sure are going to miss her.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Johnny Schneyder, grandson Taylor Zanoni, and her son-in-law Stanley (Butch) Martens.

She is survived by her children Cathy Martens, Johnny (Karen) Schneyder, and Debbie (Gerry) Zanoni; her grandchildren Trevor (Charmaine) Martens, Todd (Jean) Martens, Giovanna Zanoni, Justeena Zanoni; as well as her great-grandchildren Ainsley Martens, Addison Martens, and Taylor Zanoni.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH – 2405 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Paolo Cervantes celebrating.

I am so sorry I missed seeing this sooner. I enjoyed Liz and often Cathy at Seniors dinners and games after. Liz was very pleasant company. As I got to know more of her story I was impressed by her many talents and strong work ethic. We enjoyed a lot of fun at our table at seniors. I am grateful she was released and didn't have to suffer any longer. How wonderful she can be with Johnny now. Love, Elizabeth Olsen

So very sorry to hear of Liz's death. It was in our All Saints bulletin at mass on Sunday. Please accept our most sincere condolences. Liz was quite a very kind and wonderful person. Both her and Johnny were people of their word and also were so kind to us whenever we met. She will be missed, but we know she's now reunited with Johnny and are both on their Heavenly journey. All our love and prayers to all her family. Forever in our hearts πŸ’œ
