After school, she worked as a bank teller and as a store clerk until deciding on a career with Alberta Government Telephones where she worked as an operator off and on until retirement in the 1990’s. Elaine was very proud of having managed a flowers shop for several months to help out a friend and took great joy in working at the Health Unit for several years. Ed and Elaine moved around Alberta throughout their marriage due to his various Royal Canadian Mounted Police postings and Elaine made many great friends. During that time her skills as a cook were always improving and her talent as a baker was well appreciated. Elaine also excelled at many different crafts including cross-stitch, sewing, ceramics and flower arranging. Other than her family, on whom she doted, Elaine had a passion for reading, devouring ten or more books a month. Elaine will be sorely missed by her family and her friends.
