I only got to know Maisie over the last few years while attending online church services. She called in by phone, as I did, so I never got to see her face until now. But I'm not surprised to see how beautifully regal she was, and how much it looks like she was contemplating what she was hearing and what she might be about to say :) At the conclusion of the online services I attended with Maisie, we always had a chance to "check in", share what we thought about the service and what we were thinking about life in general. Maisie was always such a delight. Despite what ever she might have been worrying about, she was always so kind and caring about the worries of those who had checked in before her, and eager to offer her love and support. But she, also, always had something to say that made us think, often laugh and always contemplate. Maisie will be deeply missed in our future church check ins but I know that myself and all who got to knew her that way, will be grateful that she was able to join us on so many occasions. RIP Maisie
Maisie was the church organist, Worship Committee Chair, and Board member when I was the United Church minister in Vauxhall, Alberta, from 1994 to 1998. She and Swede were great friends, mentors, and offered unwavering support for our ministry and my Legion Chaplaincy. They were also key players in the strategic planning and volunteer efforts in our most successful International Elvis Gospel Festival, as a church fundraiser and community event. Since leaving Vauxhall, I have always cherished my visits with Maisie, where we would reminisce and share our joys and sorrows as fellow travellers on a journey of faith. When Covid restrictions were put in place, Maisie was also a much-loved participant in many of our church's Zoom services, sharing her questions as well as her testimony and convictions. With my own mother at a distance and then passing, I often told Maisie she was like a mother to me. I imagine Maisie being welcomed into heaven with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” There’ll be hugs and dancing. Reverend Bruce R.E. Sheasby
Denver & Hanna We are so sorry to hear about Maisie. She was a wonderful lady, we remember her fondly. We can not be there on Monday but we are thinking of you and are sending hugs your way.
We were sorry to learn that Maisie had passed away. She was always so friendly and kind to everyone and will be remembered as a fine lady. Deepest sympathy,
Deepest condolences on your loss of Maisie. Mother, grandmother, great grandmother. No matter the age, it is always hard to say goodbye to our loved ones. Maisie was a dear, lovely woman that we were honoured to have known and so appreciated her friendship. She is a tribute to a life well lived and her legacy with live on in all of you, her family. She was a wonderful friend to our dad/grandpa. They were fortunate to rekindle their childhood friendship in their later years, after the grief and loss of each of their spouses; the loves of their lives. Please know that Maisie will always have a special place in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Auntie Maisie is now with a lot of family who really LOVED her. She was a fabulous women and a good friend to me.....Rest easy Auntie Maisie.
