EDNA LANGEMANN

It is with great sadness that the family of Edna Langemann announces her passing on Saturday, September 28, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Edna was born to Nick & Catherine Salahor on June 2, 1926. She grew up in Lethbridge and also spent several years in Victoria, B.C., a place she often spoke of with fondness. In 1969 she married Peter Langemann and moved to the farm near Coaldale, where she has resided ever since. In the 39 years of their marriage, Edna worked alongside of her husband, planting and harvesting the crops on the land she loved. The city girl appreciated her acceptance in a predominately farming community. Her love of gardening ensured her family and friends were always well supplied with vegetables from her bountiful garden and flowers from her yard. Edna was a member of several craft and pottery clubs and created not only many beautiful objects but life-long friendships as well. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and was always interested in the life experiences of her beloved nieces and nephews. Although Edna endured many periods of illness and physical difficulties in her life, she always appreciated and counted on the medical personnel she dealt with over the years. The doctors and nurses who treated her became her friends and she always had a cheerful word for them. The family would like to thank the staff of the Chinook Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of Edna, especially during her last days. Edna will be sadly missed by her husband, Peter Langemann; her sister Maxine Vogt (George Griffith); two brothers Ron (Betty) Salahor and Russ (Connie) Salahor; many nieces and nephews; and many friends and neighbours. Edna was predeceased by her parents Nick & Catherine Salahor; two sisters, Helen Williams and Anne Duval; her brothers Alex Salahor and Peter Salahor; and her sister-in-law, Anne Salahor. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 7:00-8:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held at the Cornerstone Funeral Home, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Gerald Klassen officiating. A private interment will take place prior to the service at the Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge.
