DYCK, DORA

Mrs. Dora Dyck has peacefully past away to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday March 28, 2012 at the age of 87 years. Dora was born in Beaver Flats Saskatchewan, August 5, 1924. As she grew up she worked hard on her parent’s farm doing whatever needed to be done with her Dad. She married Nick Dyck on October 26, 1947 in Beaver Flats. SK. They farmed in and around the Foremost and Grassy Lake area. In 1979, Nick and Dora moved to Lethbridge where they continued to raise their children. Mom was an exceptional homemaker, she enjoyed baking, sewing, playing piano, gardening and she had exceptional talent for making wedding cakes. Grandma had lots of patience for her grandchildren, always willing to listen and spend lots of time with them. Dora was known for her “speed walking” abilities. Dora is survived by her loving four children: Stanley (Diane) Dyck, of Manyberries, Valerie (Ken) Sinclair, of Lethbridge, Carrie (Walter) Mulder, of Lethbridge, Shelly (Reuben) Friesen, of Edmonton. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, five sisters Elsie Penner, of Moose Jaw, Evlin Endler, of Shelby, MT, Rose Kroeker, of Three Hills, Betty Dyck, of Medicine Hat, Diana Lamoureux, of Calgary and one brother Edwin Friesen, of Claresholm. Dora was predeceased by her loving husband Nick Dyck of 46 years, one sister, Martha, and one grandson, Rodney. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She remained a faithful member of the Evangelical Free Church for many years. A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. and as well prior to the funeral from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, Highway #4, just East of the 43rd Street Intersection, on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Dave Acree officiating. Interment to follow at Coaldale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 2211, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 4K7 or the Gideon Bible Society, Box 22007, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1K 6X5.
