KAREN "DIANNE" DUNCAN, our beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the age of 74 years.
Dianne will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by her husband of 53 years, Alvin; daughter Denise Colp, sons Kevin (Hillary) Duncan, and Jason (Leonie) Duncan; and grandchildren Jessica, Jonathan, Victoria, Sydney, Alexis, and Atticus.
Dianne is survived by her siblings; Betty Heppner, Walter Hann, Ron (Mavis) Hann, Bill (Bev) Hann, Ken (Lynda) Hann, and Isabel (Gordon) Knoch; her brothers-in-law Marvin Knoch, Maurice (Valerie) Duncan, Jim (Martina) Duncan and sisters-in-law Barbara Duncan and Margaret Davidson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dianne was predeceased by her parents, Emil and Margaret Hann, in-laws Alexander and Edna Duncan, her sister Darlene Knoch and brother in-law Bob Duncan.
Dianne was born in Lethbridge on June 8, 1944. She was the fourth child for Emil and Margaret Hann. She grew up on the family farm, just south of Nobleford. She attended and graduated from Noble Central School. She started her training at the Galt School of Nursing and finished the RNA program at SAIT. This career took her to Calgary, Cardston, and ultimately Lethbridge. In the fall of 1982 with the support of her family, Dianne attended Lethbridge Community College and graduated as a RN in July 1984. She worked on many units in the Municipal Hospital. When the Lethbridge Regional Hospital opened, she started to work on 3A Maternity unit until her retirement in 2009. Along her nursing journey, she not only cared for moms and babies but also taught many student nurses to do the same. She was fortunate enough to look after a newborn grandson, and several newborns belonging to her nieces and nephews.
In retirement Dianne kept busy with family, the 55+ Club of Coalhurst, traveling, and her many crafting pursuits.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital emergency room, the ICU at the Peter Lougheed Centre, and the ICU at CRH. Your professionalism and compassionate care was and is greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at UNIVERSITY DRIVE ALLIANCE CHURCH, 55 Columbia Blvd. West, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Brian Palsky officiating. Refreshments to follow. A Private Family Interment will be held at a later date.

I worked with Dianne at the Regional for her entire career, she was a kind and loving nurse. We also shared a love of cake decorating, she gave me a few of her tools when she quit making cakes. I am sorry for your loss, she was a great lady and will be missed.
In Sadness we bid Adieu to a Friend that will be missed
Dear Al and family. So sorry to hear of Dianne's passing. She was such a kind lady. I will miss her soft calming voice and beautiful smile. God Bless Dorsey
Dianne - you taught me so much during our working together on 3A - you were a great teacher. Heaven has gained a great nurse!!
I extend my deepest sympathy to all of Dianne's family with your loss of her. My memories of 'Dianne Hann', go all of the way to, myself, being one of the 'little kids' on the same Nobleford school bus as her, in the day. Even then, I seemed to recognize something special about her...maybe her friendly, calm nature. I really liked her. In reading her obituary, her path in life, for me, is poignant.... so, thinking of her and you all, now. The years have gone by very quickly...her photo is much as I remember her. Joyce
