Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, DORA "DODIE" MAY DROINE, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the age of 92 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother Bruce Davies, her son, Kim Droine (Barbara Kirkness), her four grandchildren, Carrie Ann (Shawn) Worden of Lethbridge, Darren (Xi Luo) Droine of Edmonton, AB, Craig Benson of Slave Lake, AB and Carl (Nid) Redfearn of Brighton, England, UK along with her four precious great-grandchildren, Waylon, Tallulah, Brian and Rylee. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Droine, in 2000 as well as her two sons Brian and Michael Droine.
Dodie graduated from the Galt School of Nursing in 1951 and continued working passionately as a nurse in Slave Lake and Lethbridge until retirement in 1980. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Victor at a bus stop in Fort Macleod in 1952 through their closest friends, Barb and Pat Howe.
Dodie's nursing career spanned for over 30 years and met many friends that remained close to the end. Particularly, her graduating class of 1951 who continued to celebrate many milestones, lunches, and teas over the decades.
The family would like to acknowledge all of her loving friends from TOPS, The Red Hats, LSCO, and Seasons Retirement Community, as well as close friends of the family, Julie and Leo Dube, Audrey Campbell, and Barb Lamont for their friendship, love and support.
A private Funeral Service will be held.
