Psalm 121: “I life up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth”.
On the evening of Wednesday, December 14, 2011, our heavenly Father took on to himself my husband, our dad and our opa. MENNO GEERT DRENT, is lovingly remembered by his wife Tina Drent, his two children Jason (Taya) Drent of Sundre, AB and their two children Dane and Gabe, and Kristin (Tyson) Lemke of Edmonton, AB.
He is also survived by one brother, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Menno was predeceased by his parents, one sister and one brother.
Menno was born December 26, 1930 in Scheemda, Holland. He came to Canada in 1952 with his parents and siblings. They settled in Taber. He married Tina Bakker in 1972 and together they had two children. Menno worked as a millwright at Canbra Foods for many years but also enjoyed truck driving. Menno will be sadly missed by the family and many friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the C.R.H. 4B and St. Michael’s Palliative Care.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 7:00 - 8:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 260 McGill Boulevard West, Lethbridge on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Tony Maan officiating.
A private family interment preceded the service at Mountain View Cemetery.
