Don was born on April 17, 1954 and grew up in Yellowknife, NWT before moving to Burnaby, BC in his teens. Don spent many years working for Local 97 as an Ironworker. This is the time when he met the love of his life Kathy while working in Ontario. They shared 40 years together.

It is in Hamilton where they married and were blessed with three beautiful daughters Katelynn (Andrew), Kassandra, and Kelsey. He was so proud and excited to become a grandfather to Karter in 2024. They all were the pride of his life. In 2005 the family moved to Lethbridge where Don then began working for CP rail. Don enjoyed traveling and working so the job was a perfect fit.

Don always enjoyed playing his many guitars, and while he always enjoyed going the gym, it was after his retirement he began competitive weightlifting and competed in his last competition in October.

Don will be deeply missed by his family and close friends and his memory will live on in them.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the NEST (HONKERS PUB), 2806 5th Avenue North from 2:00 P.M. till 4:30 P.M.

Please come and share your memories of Don with his loved ones.

Always enjoyed the gym time when Don was working out, a few words, a smile and smirk, watching to see who wasn’t cleaning the equipment after using it! My condolences to Don’s Family, a neat guy. Hugh Richards

My deepest condolences to Don's family. What a shock it was when Don told me about his illness. He practically lived in the gym in his retirement years.
