DOMONIC BIANCHI, beloved husband of Barbara Bianchi of Milk River, went to to be with God and his granddaughter Kendra on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the age of 88 years. He died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Milk River Hospital. Domonic is survived by his wife Barbara, children; Boyd (Colleen) Bianchi, Annette (Ken) Long, Carleen (Konrad) Galts and Darcy ‘D.J.’ (Don) Finkbeiner, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister Anne Hooke as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 granddaughter, 3 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law. Domonic was born on November 20, 1919 on the farm homesteaded by his parents, Liberata and Thomas Bianchi. He lived there most of his life, farming with his Dad. He attended the school at St. Kilda. In 1955 he married the love of his life Barbara Waters and they settled on the farm to raise their family of four children. They were married for 53 wonderful years, working hard and playing together. Domonic had a great sense of humour and was always playing tricks. Domonic was very active with the children, never missing a ball game and being an umpire when needed. He loved taking the girls to rodeos and watching them compete in barrel racing and other events, even going as far as Minot, North Dakota to attend a high school rodeo with Darcy. He was community minded, serving as director in the Pinhorn and Writing-On-Stone community pastures. He especially enjoyed being on the Bull Committee, inspecting the bulls in the spring. He was a director of the Coutts Home and School Association. As a young man he drove cattle to Coutts for the cattle buyers, a two day trip. Domonic was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and Milk River Elks. He was an advanced amateur radio operator. In 1977, Domonic and Barbara moved to Milk River where he commuted to the farm daily. They spent several winters going south to warmer climates but found they missed the family too much. Domonic loved his family very much and nothing pleased him more than having them all gather for special occasions. He had a great love for his horses and his special dog friend Cricket who spent many hours sleeping beside him in his chair. He will be sadly missed by his family.
