She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pete, sisters, Pat and Myleen, and brothers, Clair and George.

Born on August 9, 1928, she was raised in Calgary and got her university degree in Winnipeg. She taught in Picture Butte and then in Coaldale, where she met her husband, Pete Slemko. After marrying, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising their family and creating a loving, supportive home in Lethbridge.

In later years, Diana shared her gift for language by teaching English as a second language to newcomers. A woman of deep faith, she was a long-time member of the Catholic Women’s League and was known for her kindness and generous willingness to help.

Diana and Pete enjoyed many years of world travel together and spent their final chapter at Martha’s House, where Diana held a deep affection for the staff and fellow residents who surrounded her with care and friendship.

Diana’s cheeky sense of humour, gentle affection, and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 9:30 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating. The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and may be viewed on Diana’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Following the Funeral Mass, Diana will be laid next to her loving husband Pete in Royal View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation (heartandstroke.ca)
