DELBERT JOSEPH COLLIN, beloved husband of Carole Collin, passed away at The Milk River Hospital, on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his loving children; Tim Collin of Warner, Ed (Linda) Collin of Lethbridge and Nola (Peter) Nagy of Warner. Delbert is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Michael Collin of Lethbridge, Christine Collin of Warner, Ethan, Joey, Jonny and Colin Nagy all of Warner. In addition he is survived by his 3 brothers; Bud Collin, Wilbur (Edith) Collin and Terrance (Betty) Collin; and 3 sisters Collette (Art) McMullen, Catherine (Ken) Stroman and Denise Ingles. Delbert was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Frances Collin. Delbert was born on August 25th, 1932 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He was raised and educated in Warner, Alberta and spent his entire life farming, except for 4 years when he was working in Maui, Hawaii, as a manager of a condo complex. Delbert was remembered for having a tremendous amount of tools that he used and worked with for hours on end. Due to illness he had to give up one of his most favored passions in 1998, flying, before that in 1974 he got his pilot’s license and bought himself an airplane, he enjoyed many hours flight. He served on the County of Warner for 9 years as a Councilor; one of his greatest accomplishments as a Councilor was developing Ridge Park in 1985. His hobbies were playing with the knights of rhythm band as their drummer, hunting and silhouette shooting. He was a Canadian carded shooting official and officiated at small bore and silhouette matches across Canada. He also officiated at the arctic winter games. In 1985 he was awarded the Max Gibb award for his dedication for officiating at the Southern Alberta summer game. Delbert and Carole celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005. One of the greatest joys Delbert had was spending time with his Grandchildren. A Prayer service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Boulevard West, on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Fernando Genogaling Officiating.
