With great sadness, the family of ELIZABETH "BETTY" MARY DEAK announce her passing at St. Therese Villa on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the age of 94 years.

Betty is survived by her loving granddaughter, Kendra and Kendra's mother, Debbie Deak, and two great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Maddison Deak Webber.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her two sons, Larry and Kenny, and her parents, James and Rosalie Koncs. Betty is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was married to Joseph (Benson) Deak for 58 years.  She was the most wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend; her leaving has created an emptiness in our hearts that will never be filled. We will forever cherish her memories and loving ways.

Betty was born and raised in Hungary and immigrated to Canada at eight years of age. With her parents, she settled in southern Alberta. Following her marriage to Benson, she worked for many years at Frache's Flower Shop and Greenhouse - a time in her life that she cherished. Betty greatly enjoyed having her family and extended family close to her; every visit to the Deak home was special and filled with superb food and camaraderie.

Thank you to family and friends who visited Betty and filled her days with happiness while she was a resident at St. Therese.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.

Dear Betty You were and always will be a beautiful wonderful women and I thank you for all the support you gave me. And I thank you for all the times we laughed and cried together. I was always sad for the fact that you did not get to live your life to its fullest with both of your sons and their families', as I know you had always hoped for as a young wife and mother. Thankfully you had Debbie and Kendra and your dear great grandchildren. You are now joined with your dear Benson, Larry and Kenny. You will always have a special place in my heart. Love always Irene Caruso Doucette.
