ELAINE DAVIS (nee Woolliams) beloved wife of George Davey passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care, Lethbridge, AB with her family by her side on April 9, 2011 at the age of 85.
Elaine was born in Calgary and raised on the Woolliams N2N ranch in the Simons Valley Area. Elaine met her first husband Ernest Davis while he was working on the ranch. They married on April 12, 1948. They had two children - Ken and Diane. A company transfer for Ern took the family to Lethbridge in 1969. Elaine worked at Simpson-Sears in the cosmetic department for many years, travelling the world upon retirement. Ern passed in 1985. Elaine then met and married the second love of her life - George Davey on September 12, 1992. Elaine gave George the “travel bug” and they travelled to numerous locations, but their favourite destination was Hawaii. Elaine’s favourite hobby was Bridge Club. She had many friends and happy times with her Bridge Club ladies. The last few years were difficult for Elaine due to arthritis taking over her body. She fought a long, hard, courageous battle and is now at peace and pain free.
Elaine leaves behind her devoted and loving husband George Davey. Her children Ken (Dawn) Davis from High River, Diane (Kerry) Banack from Lethbridge, Stepdaughter Catherine (Bill) Cherlenko from Maple Ridge, BC: Grandchildren Heather (Oscar) Cruz, Troy Davis, Adelle (Frank) Segouin, Brent (Pam) Banack, Travis Banack, and Chris (Jill) Cherlenko. Great Grandchildren Maxwell and Lukas Segouin and Calahan Cherlenko. Numerous nieces and nephews and their families. A Funeral Service will be held at ST. AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 - 11 Street South, Lethbridge, on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
