Besides her loving husband, Peter, Darlene is survived by her sons Peter Daniel (Jovial) of Lethbridge and Matthew Curtis (Sheila) of Winnipeg, as well as her sisters, Linda Bitner, Karen (Tom) Redmond, and Sandra Bitner.

She was predeceased by her father Harley Leroy Bitner and her mother Dorothy Ellen Bitner (née Byrnes).

Darlene, a loving wife to Peter and a devoted Christian mother to Daniel and Matthew, had a deep affection for animals of all kinds, including dachshunds and birds. This passion let her to work as a vet assistant when her sons started school. She later learned to groom dogs and cats, a skill she perfected over a successful career spanning more than 30 years.

Although she was born and raised in Calgary, she had a strong appreciation for the country and loved spending time there. Her love for animals extended to volunteering with a couple of chuckwagon teams for several years whenever they were in the area. Above all, she had an unwavering faith in God, and loved listening to the teachings of Joyce Meyer.

As per Darlene’s request, a private Celebration will be held.

So sorry to learn seven months hence from Suzanne Thrift that our dear friend Darlene Bolwyn is no longer with us. I hope she didn't suffer. Gone way too soon. My deepest condolences to Peter, Danny, and Matthew. Darlene took me under her wings back in 1991 when I purchased miniature-longhaired dachshund puppy Brindy from her and started our dog show career of 15 years achieving Best in Show awards and #15 Hound in Canada. A dear friend and mentor you will be missed Darlene.

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Darlene. My condolences to the Bolwyn family. We had the opportunity to meet Darlene when she groomed our sweet Maggie. She always welcomed my children in and shared her love of grooming with them. She allowed my oldest daughter to stay and help groom. Thankful for the many memories and conversations we had over the years. Darlene will be missed.
