Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

JACK CULLEN, lifelong best friend, and husband of 66 years to Evelyn Cullen, was promoted to glory on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at the age of 85 years.

Jack is survived by his wife Evelyn Cullen, son Bob (Diane) Cullen with grandchildren Jaden Cullen (Chris Hatfield), Brett Cullen (Whitney Lammi), great grandchild Nixen and son Jeff Cullen (Michelle) with grandchildren Josiah and Isabelle.  He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Ivy Cullen and sister Joan Fowler.

Jack was born June 6, 1935 in Fort Macleod, AB where he spent most of his years.  He cherished his family, church, community and above all his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Jack grew up in Fort Macleod and after marrying Evelyn on May 6, 1955 worked for CW Stevens as a carpenter before becoming a captain in the Salvation Army and spending 8 years at appointments in Hazelton, Terrace, Vermilion BC, Grande Prairie and The Pas, MB.  Returning to Fort Macleod in 1972 he worked for the Willow Creek School Division before becoming Head of Grounds and Facilities at the Fort Museum.  For Jack retirement meant spending more time in his wood-working shop on various projects for his family and community.  An avid lover of fishing, westerns, and Salvation Army brass bands his passion for the outdoors and wood working came together in his wildlife carvings.  He greatly enjoyed using his skills to enrich the lives of others.  Whether it was Santa's reindeer for the annual Santa Claus parade, customized wood snowmen for every member of his church congregation or various crafts and toys for his grandchildren his love was poured into all his creations.  His kind, gentle spirit and unmistakable laugh and sense of humor will always be remembered by his family and friends.  Jack could strike up a conversation with anyone.  He loved to laugh, valued hard work and keeping his word no matter the cost.  Jack was chaplain for the Fort Macleod Legion for several years and had many opportunities as a guest preacher in various Southern Alberta churches.  Whether leading the community in Christmas carols as emcee at the annual Rotary Carol festival for 30 years or singing a solo at the Salvation Army on Sunday morning he loved to sing.  Jack led a simple life of trusting faith in Christ marked by integrity, kindness and love for family and community.  Husband, Dad, Grandad, friend, you can rest in His arms now, your work is complete.

Special thanks to the many health professionals who cared for Jack in his final days.

A Service will be held for immediate family on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:00 P.M.  The service will be live streamed any may be accessed via Jack's obituary on the Cornerstone website.

Stacy & Grant Henderson, May 1, 2021

I just heard that Jack had been promoted to glory. My dad (Major Bill Clarke) talked so often about his family connections out West and loved Jack and Ev. It has been 40 years since I saw you all, and that was just once. But I still have good memories from that visit. On behalf of this part of the family, please accept my sincere condolences. Love and prayers. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."

Reverend Barbara (Clarke) Moulton, May 1, 2021

Evelyn, we are thinking of you in your time of loss. Jack will ever be remembered in our hearts for his generous nature and good humour. His many contributions to his church family, helping decorate the church for Christmas (with his amazing Three Wise Men for the wall). His willingness to help others. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Evelyn and family, Our condolences with Jack's passing. He will be missed. He was very talented and was able to let others enjoy what he did.
