WILLIAM "BILL" DAVID COUSINS, soulmate and husband of Lily Lau-Cousins of 38 years, passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital, due to medical complications (unrelated to Covid) with his family by his side, on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the age of 60 years.

Besides his wife Lily, Bill is survived by his sons Blake and Daniel (Tylyn) all of Taber; mother Becky Cousins; brothers Barry (Mary), Bob (Lois) and Bruce (Cathy), and sister Bev (Harry); father-in-law Chung Ken (Joe) Lau; sister-in-law Lila (Mike); brothers-in-law Allan (Allyson) and David (Stephanie), as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom were very special to him.

Bill was predeceased by his father William "Bill" Cousins and mother-in-law Yick Fuen Tsang Lau.

Bill was born in Edmonton, but grew up in Lethbridge where he had many longtime friends that he had shared numerous legendary adventures with over the years. Despite his struggles with mental and physical problems in his adult life, he still tried to be positive and made the most of it. He always cheered for the underdogs in life and in sports, and was always willing to help everyone he met. At a young age his Dad and his Granddad Stokes started him on his passion for hunting and fishing, which he passed along to his sons and to anyone else who wanted to learn.

Bill worked for the City of Lethbridge for years in various departments doing many jobs. For the last 25 years he had called Taber home, where he did deliveries for Paradise Gardens Restaurant and knew practically everyone in town. When he couldn't work or drive anymore the phone was his lifeline to the outside world. Thinking about his family and friends was always his first priority. Thank you to everyone for their time and patience for talking to him and making his day. He is now with his hunting and fishing buddies in the great beyond. Bill, you will be greatly missed by all.

Thank you to Dr. E. Hardin for all her years of caring and patience; to Dr. I. Armstrong and Dr. A. Palma during the past few years; to the Psychiatry West and ICU staffs of the Chinook Regional Hospital for all their excellent care and kindnesses; and to many other various professionals too numerous to mention.

A private Family Memorial will be held, with a Celebration of Bill's Life for family and friends to follow at a later date when possible.

In memory of Bill donations may be made to a mental assistance association of your choice.

I saw this months ago. I should have placed a note after looking up someone special that went to God's arms in 2000. I'm a little older.. Yet I pretty much remember him (Tall&Slim) the 2nd last seat to the right and back of the class. Quiet, not the same as my friend, his brother Barry. Great Family

REST IN PEACE, BILL

Nancy Mace, February 9, 2021

I honour Bill's memory as an avid outdoorsman who loved nature as well as the people he had come to know. To Bill, truly a friend was simply a stranger he had not yet met. Wishes for strength and peace to Lily and family.

Billy I will always remember what a great guy you where. Even thought you where a couple years older than me when we when growing up in Lethbridge you always treated me, Hoop, Barry and the rest of the boys really nice. I remember your car accident and how you fought back from your brain injury. You may be gone but you are nothing forgotten. Shoot me a 42 barred pheasant when you get a chance brother. Fond memories, Kenny Kotkas
