RUTH MARIE COPPIETERS (née Esseltine), beloved wife of the late Richard Coppieters, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Legacy Lodge, on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at the age of 87 years.

She is survived by her children Jordan (Lorraine) and Judy Zimmer and grandchildren Nicki (Aaron) Zimmer and Jason (Stevie) Zimmer. She also leaves her siblings, Audrey (Joe), Jackie (John), nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to Richard, she is predeceased by her sisters Jean and Doris, and recently her beloved son-in-law, Ronald Zimmer.

Ruth was born on December 10, 1935 in Dereham Township, Ontario. She resided in Lethbridge most of her life with her husband of 61 years, Richard Coppieters who has recently passed.

Ruth was a telephone operator for most of her working years. Ruth enjoyed knitting, reading, bingo, gardening and bowling. At the bowling lanes, she shared great friendships. Upon retirement from AGT (Alberta Government Telephone), Ruth enjoyed travelling with her husband in their motorhome, golfing, camping and later in life, taking many bus tours in Canada and the United States.

As per Ruth's request, there will be no memorial service.
