Clarence was the oldest child, and only son of Ben and Katie Wall. Except for a brief stint in Calgary, Clarence spent most of his formative years on farms in the Readymade area. With Wall cousins nearby, they enjoyed getting together for activities, such as biking on country roads and swimming in the canal. As the oldest grandchild on the Nikkel side, he was spoiled by his grandparents, Oma and Opa, and aunts and uncles. His uncle Ed was born approximately 2 ½ years after Clarence so they literally grew up as brothers. Together with his sister Barb, the 3 of them shared many special times. Several years later, 2 more sisters, Kathy and Kiki (Bernadine) made the family complete.

Even as a child, Clarence was inquisitive as to how things worked, often taking devices apart to see how they operated or to make them work better. With such curiosity, it was no surprise that he pursued a career in mechanics. He worked for many years as a heavy-duty mechanic and then later as a parts technician. Even after retirement, his input was frequently sought after by many for his advice and expertise on all things mechanical. Besides enjoying the challenge of troubleshooting and fixing things, Clarence enjoyed the outdoors including fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed camping with his kids and grandkids, and in the last couple of years, even took up paddleboarding.

In 1970, he married Myrt (Martha) and became a part of the large Reimer clan. Clarence and Myrt welcomed two sons, Darcy born in 1975 and Clinton in 1978. He was overjoyed to be a father and was so proud of his sons throughout their lives. As a father of 2 boys, he was delighted to welcome 2 daughters to the family, Barbi and Chelsea. Although they were daughters-in-law, they treasured him as Dad. When he expanded his role to include Grandpa, he embraced it wholeheartedly as Maxwell, Aaila and Aspen brought him immense joy. We are grateful that he was able to attend Maxwell and Dezrae’s wedding in June where he welcomed Dez to the family and prayed for them at the reception. He was ever present, supportive, and encouraging in the various endeavours that his family was involved in.

Clarence’s faith ran deep. He invited Jesus into his life as a young person at Bible camp, followed by baptism in 1969. While mostly quiet, his deep faith in Jesus was firm and unwavering as he lived his life with integrity and conviction.

Clarence is survived by his dearly loved wife Myrt; sons Darcy (Barbi) and Clint (Chelsea); grandchildren Maxwell (Dezrae), Aaila and Aspen; his mother Katie; sisters Barb (Vic) Penner, Kathy (Ron) Regehr, Bernadine (John) Wojtowicz; as well as the extended Reimer family and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Ben, in 2000.

Thank you to the amazing medical personnel involved in Dad’s care, especially Dr. DeWalle and Dr. Benke (nurse Tanya) who were so dedicated to navigating his medical challenges for the past several years. Special thanks to the ER and ICU teams for their exceptional and compassionate care during his time of crisis. Our family is forever grateful for all of you.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Clarence to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre or Streets Alive Mission.

I’m sending much sympathy, love and hugs to Myrt and all the family! Clarence was so strong and always kind- he was a pleasure to know!

I had the pleasure to work with Clarence for many years at Oliver/Motion and have fond memories of it. He was a dedicated and talented man and had a reputation as a problem solver. I'm smiling here as I think of Clarence and how he would greet a challenge and it would usually start with no can't do that then maybe and then he would offer a way that it could be done! I don't believe that I had the opportunity to meet his family but please accept my condolences. He will be missed !

Martha & Family: My deepest sympathy for all of you at this difficult time. Clarence & I worked together for many years at Motion Canada. I always had a lot of respect for him in his great mechanical skills and how he applied it to his success at work, Customers always asked for him because they knew he would be able help them with their needs. He was always a pleasure to work with. Farewell my friend. Doug & Nevis Foruk

Praying for the peace of god to strengthen you at this difficult time.

Uncle Clarence will be so very missed. His perhaps gruff-seeming exterior did a poor job of masking his caring, selfless heart. He loved my dad, Wayne, like a brother and always cared for me, and my car, like one of his own. My family and I are sad to miss the service in person but we are thinking of you all. Sending so much love, especially to Aunty Myrt, Darcy, Clinton, and their families.

Melissa Berry, August 4, 2024

Martha and family, Stephanie and I send our deepest sympathy over the sad passing of Clarence. I had the good fortune to work with Clarence for many years at Motion (Oliver) and I have many memories from his time as shop foreman and inside sales. We hope your memories bring comfort during this very difficult time.
