He was predeceased by his parents Louis & Wilma Haakensen, sister and brother in law, Bev and Chester Smetaniuk, grandparents, Thorvold and Martha Haakensen, Ab and Lillie Barton, nephew Travis Kendall and numerous aunts and uncles.
Clarence was born February 23, 1942 at Bradleys Nursing Home, South of Cadillac. He attended school at Boule Creek. In 1957, when he was 15 years old, he was in a car accident. This left him in a coma for several months. He had to learn how to do everything again, such as walk and talk. This totally changed his life and left him with a considerable handicap. As a result of this handicap he went to rehabilitation centres in Saskatoon and Swift Current for awhile. He later worked for Friggstad Manufacturing at Frontier, SK from 1975-1978 as well as some farmers in the area. In 1984 he went to Lethbridge and lived with Verna & Edgar. Later he moved to a place of his own until he was unable to live independently and in 2010 moved to Legacy Lodge where he resided till his passing.
Clarence loved to look at magazines and newspapers and would always read the vehicle ads, searching for a good deal for a Ford. In his opinion Ford was always the best. Family and friends were always important to Clarence and really enjoyed spending time and visiting with them. A Funeral Service will be held at the CADILLAC COMMUNITY HALL, 2707 Centre Street, Cadillac, SK on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Linda Hall, officiating. Interment will follow at the South Immanuel Cemetery, Cadillac District.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Cadillac Community Hall or to Lethbridge Family Services, Decapo Program.
