CICON, CATHERINE GODRUN

With saddened hearts we announce the passing of CATHERINE CICON (DALSTO) at St. Michael’s Care Centre in Lethbridge on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the age of 89 years.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1990. She leaves to mourn her passing six sons; Jim (Eileen), Roger, Ralph, Harold (Lynn), Randall and Richard (Suzie), one daughter Brenda (Lavern) Buchert, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two brothers Alan (Marjorie) and Norman (Rosemary) Dalsto.
Although Catherine was born in Dundas, Ontario, her family home was in Cereal, AB. After completing her high school in Cereal, Catherine moved to Calgary to continue her education at Henderson Business College. Catherine and Jim were married in 1942, living in Cereal, Scandia, Onefour and then settling in Lethbridge in 1964. Catherine was a valued employee at the YWCA and The Lethbridge Housing Authority. After Jim’s passing, Catherine joined the On Our Own Club. She also enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. In the last few years, her son Randall provided care and companionship to allow Catherine to enjoy her senior years in the comfort of her own home.
In accordance with Catherine’s wishes, she will be cremated; no formal funeral service will be held.
